GRETCHEN SORENSEN, Principal
Gretchen Sorensen transforms organizational challenges into measurable, positive results. With twenty-five years of global multi-sector experience, Gretchen's problem-solving and organizational development skills have helped catalyze a broad range of initiatives and innovative business solutions that cross sectors and industries.
Gretchen launched an independent consulting practice in 2006. Her expertise in strategic initiatives and partnerships, branding and identity, communications, philanthropy, advocacy and policy help her clients translate paradigm-shifting ideas and discoveries into tangible value for funders, public policy makers and the marketplace – bringing accelerated benefits and return on investment. Gretchen serves as senior strategic advisor to organizations in the public, private and non-profit sectors that are engaged in the life sciences, global health and sustainable development.
Gretchen has served in numerous leadership positions, in both the public and private sectors. She has served as a member of biotech visionary Dr. Leroy Hood’s team at the Institute for Systems Biology; a technology company executive; in senior legislative and policy positions on Capitol Hill and as an advisor for two Presidential campaigns. She served as Regional Administrator at the U.S. Small Business Administration and White House Liaison for the Pacific Northwest region during the Clinton Administration. At Turner Broadcasting, she led the corporate communications efforts throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
Gretchen is a graduate of The Evergreen State College. She has served on numerous non-profit boards and currently serves as vice chair of Seattle CityClub's Board of Governors and the University of Washington's Clean Energy Institute Advisory Board.
